Ios Ranch horses soared at the well-subscribed event at Donida Farm on February 22. Betrand de Lopez won the 1.0m Optimum time class and came in second in the Adult Amateur class with his rider, PJ LeDorze (son of Ios Ranch owner Philippe LeDorze). Ashley Mathews and Cunastrichta had a very successful debut in the jumper ring. And Dolino, piloted by our own Jenni Wymer, came in third in the young jumper division. A big thank you to Tami Masters, Jennifer Hansen, and the teams at Starfire Farms and Donida Farm for hosting a fantastic event. Classes went into the wee hours Saturday, demonstrating the need for local jumping competitions. Congratulations to all!

Touch of Class Dressage Show, Thunderbird Showpark, Langley, British Columbia. Leslie Reid rode Ios Ranch's Fine and Smart, a 9 year old Westfalen gelding by Fuerst Piccolo, in his first competition at Intermediare 1. Although he is still green at the level, his test was nice enough to earn the pair at 71% and the win! Little Lady Lu showing at Thunderbird Showpark's season openers. She has moved up to the 1.20m as a six year old and placed in fields of over 30 horses. Cornet Fever, our stallion by Cornet Oblensky, moved up to the 1.40m and placed in both his classes the second week. Thank you to Bertrand Ganee and Voltaire Design for a fantastic day of fitting and fun. Ios Ranch introduced riders from Washington and Oregon to these beautiful, comfortable and well-priced saddles. Our open house party on Saturday night was so much fun, no one had time to take pictures! For the evening, Renee Brofsky, of Stella and Dot, tempted guests with their trendy jewelry and Mollie Bogardus informed us of the latest in composting machinery. (Only a horse barn would have jewelry and compost in the same room and no one think it odd!) The group swelled to over 60 people, testing the capacity of the viewing room at Ios. Thanks, too, to the team at Simply Bainbridge for the delicious food!
